Sanctuary season premiere, new interviews with Christopher Heyerdahl, Jane Espenson and Scott Porter, and general updates

Sanctuary is back tonight at 10 pm with the season four opener, "Tempus." Ryan Robbins and Christopher Heyerdahl are still series regulars and Peter Wingfield is back as Dr. Watson. Here is the synopsis:
Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) pursues Adam Worth (Ian Tracey) back to 1898 London as he attempts to save his daughter. If successful, Magnus knows he will destroy the natural order of history and must stop him from irreparably altering the world’s future at whatever cost.
Space has a couple of behind-the-scenes videos that include interviews with the cast here and here, and Pop Culture Zoo has an early review, a preview and some cast photos.

Eric Stoltz is back on the set of Glee. Jenna Ushkowitz posted this photo of him yesterday. If you're in the Seattle area, you can catch Fort McCoy at the Tacoma Film Festival tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 pm.

Husbands episode eight, "This Together Thing," has been posted on HusbandstheSeries.com.

io9.com has an excellent article about horror and fantasy on TV. They talked to Jane Espenson among other people. Here are a couple of quotes:
How do you freak people out without spending movie money on special effects?
Espenson: Having worked on Caprica and now on Once Upon a Time, I am stunned at the effects that can be captured now within a TV budget, so if you wanted to grab some high-tech scares, that might well be something that a TV show could deliver really really well.

How do you use ongoing weekly character development to strengthen the horror/fantasy elements, instead of having them be at odds?
Espenson: Television has the advantage of having massive opportunities for character development. And you're going to be more scared of the dangers threatening these characters you know and love than you are if it was all happening to people you're only spending two hours with. In that way, the stakes will keep naturally rising over the season as the audience gets more invested in the characters as people.
Jane (who was also on the Rex Sikes' Movie Beat podcast this week) and Alessandra Torresani will both be at the Husbands panel at the New York Comic Con on Friday, October 14.

Two new interviews with Scott Porter showed up in the last couple of days. One is at NYDailyNews.com and the other at Zap2it.com. Here is what he says about the rumoured Friday Night Lights movie:
"I hope Jason Street fits into the movie somehow," Porter tells us. "Any moment that I can have with that cast and those creators and that crew -- I'd never turn it down. It'd be a very special moment for me. It's something that I would love to be a part of."

Porter was a series regular in the first two seasons of the show. His Season 3 guest appearances led to the character leaving Dillon, Texas, and moving on to pursue his dream of being a sports agent in New York.

Despite Jason's personal triumph, Porter says there's still story left to be told. "There are so many things we weren't able to do with Jason," he tells us. "What really sucked was the writer's strike happening when it did, because everyone was going to see a huge arc for Jason at the end of Season 2."
NBC has released a couple of new teasers for Grimm. If you're in Washington, D.C., you can win tickets to an early screening on Wednesday, October 26, at WashingtonCityPaper.com.
