Red Dot Diva has a new interview with Sasha Roiz. He talks about Caprica among other things (and do check out the photo of Sam Adama he posted on FB this week):
Red Dot Diva: After "Caprica" was cancelled, was there actually something you were glad that you needn't have to go through every day during filming?
Sasha: I don't miss the tattooing process each morning. But I miss the show and the wonderful friends and team that I had the pleasure to work with.
Red Dot Diva: And what was the most heartfelt moments you took back with you after the "Caprica" experience?
Sasha: The people were what made that experience so special for me. I adored my cast mates, many of whom have remained dear friends. I had a chance to work with some of the finest writers and producers in the industry and contribute to a show that I was very proud of. It's an experience I will always treasure.
Red Dot Diva: To-date, you have played many different characters (and I have to say, we enjoyed those various roles tremendously). Which one has been the most personally unique to you and which one has been the most unforgettable?
Sasha: Sam Adama will always hold a special place in my heart. I felt that the writers understood me well, and helped me in creating a very layered and complex character. I was also very proud to represent the gay community through a unique gay character. They were very supportive of my work and it felt truly rewarding. I'm also very excited for my upcoming role in "Grimm", Captain Renard will prove to be quite memorable.
To kick off the Fringe set stalking season, John Pyper-Ferguson was spotted filming episode 4x02 (according to Fringe French Division), which will likely air on September 30.

Several new interviews with Esai Morales showed up in the last couple of days. The first one is from Latin Heat, a five-page article about Gun Hill Road. Snippet:
How did you end up working with Rashaad Ernesto Greens Directorial and you executive producing?There is another article at Latin American Herald Tribune:
Rashaad Ernesto Green, the director, is a three-time scholarship recipient of the National Hispanic Foundation of the Arts (Morales along with Jimmy Smits and Sonia Braga are founding members of this organization whose mission is to advance the presence of Latinos in media). He is one of among many recipients, but he followed through with what he wanted to do.
How so?
He told me a few years back, ‘I have a script, its based on a true story, on a family, and it’s really interesting, can I send it to you.’ To be honest there was a little trepidation because most people who try to go directly to you to send scripts have to because the work is not really ready to go through the proper channels and survive the screening process. But not only did he approach me but he also went through the proper channels, my agent my managers and I was, ‘hey good for him.’
The film premieres in New York City before opening in other cities over the coming weeks. The limited distribution speaks to the lack of support for these types of movies compared with big studio productions such as “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” which will debut Friday in thousands of theaters nationwide.
“We make up 60 percent of the people going to the cinema,” the actor told Efe, without citing a source for that figure. But he said Hispanic filmmakers still struggle to find funding for their projects because Latinos themselves don’t support their movies at the box office.
In that regard, he noted that “it’s a vicious cycle: people don’t go see us and then they don’t give us a budget. We’re always pleading for it and that’s infuriating,” Morales said, adding that Hispanic audiences have a “colonized complex” that makes them favor Hollywood fare.
Besides promoting “Gun Hill Road,” Morales urged Latino movie-goers to flock to see recent releases such as “A Better Life,” in which Demian Bichir turns in an “Oscar-worthy” performance as a Hispanic gardner in East L.A. struggling to keep his son out of gangs.
