With Gun Hill Road opening in New York this weekend, Esai Morales is everywhere. Fox News Latino has a short interview with him and Rashaad Ernesto Green. Snippet:

I was attracted to the unique nature of Gun Hill Road, although people erroneously equate the movie to La Mission [a film starring Benjamin Bratt as the ex-con father of a gay teen] and it’s different. [In this movie] my son isn’t gay, my son rejects the body he was born with and that’s beyond gay. We’re talking about sexual identity as opposed to sexual orientation, it’s really gender identity and that’s the difference. This is not La Mission this is Gun Hill Road. It’s an east coast Nuyorican, Dominican, Afro-American look at our own world. It shows you what happens to a family with a father who’s trying to redeem his life.

Fort McCoy with Eric Stoltz will be screened at the Montreal World Film Festival (August 18-28). Elsewhere, Showtime has announced a return date for Californication -- January 9 - so we won't be seeing Eric's episode until February. (He should show up on Wilfred one of these weeks, though.)
Jim Halterman has a fun Q&A with Sasha Roiz from the TCAs, with some new info about the three characters we'll see him play in the near future. Snippets:
JH: What is Captain Renard really like? We see in the pilot that there is definitely more to him than initially meets the eye.
SR: Renard is the French word for fox and that sort of sets the pace; he’s a bit of a sly one. Like you saw at the end of the pilot, he turns and there’s a good reveal and you realize he’s in cahoots with a lot of these creatures and he has his own ambitions that will very much be in conflict with the protagonist. (...)
JH: Did you get some of that worked out in your recent guest role on Warehouse 13?
SR: It has comedic stuff and I got to laugh a hell of a lot and crack jokes in the wings but unfortunately my guy was a baddie. I did get to do a few episodes of [the FX series] It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for the new season. It’s going to be a great, great 2-part episode. It’s a high-school reunion episode.
JH: Who do you play?
SR: I play a character called Adriano Calvanese [laughs] and he’s the most popular guy from high school and they’re all sucking up to him again. I get to be with the whole gang but Kaitlin Olson’s character falls for me again so there’s some fun with that.

Friday Night Lights proved to be a career launching pad, Porter said.
"It's being such a dramatic role led right into another dramatic role on Caprica, and to another dramatic role on The Good Wife. I've learned that every scene is like a portrait. And in (Hart of Dixie), there's a lightheartedness and a kind of fun feel to the show that I needed personally. I need to be able to laugh and smile and have a great time and be a little ornery and be a leading man, for once."

Syfy has announced Sanctuary's return in the press release for the fall 2011 lineup. The show will be back in October (no exact date yet).
The 13 all-new episodes of Season 4 change everything. With the arrival of the Hollow Earth refugees, the balance between Abnormals and humans is severely upset. In order to keep the peace, Magnus and team must throw out the rulebook. But forging their own way means they’re not just dodging dangerous Abnormals anymore, now they’ve got world governments and new villains nipping at their heels. Suffer, the short film with Ryan Robbins, will be shown at the HollyShorts Film Festival in Marina del Rey on August 14. Meanwhile, IGN has the box art for Wrecked, which will be out on DVD and Blu-ray on August 30.
Born to Race with John Pyper-Ferguson will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in Germany on October 6.
