Nerdist has finally posted the Writers Panel podcast with Jane and Douglas Petrie, recorded in late March. Details:
Jane Espenson (Once Upon a Time; Husbands; Buffy; Caprica) and Douglas Petrie (Charlie’s Angels; Buffy; Pushing Daisies) return to the studio to revisit Jane’s old blog, janeespenson.com, and discuss how, while the business may have changed since she was regularly updating it, writing has not.
You can listen to the podcast on Nerdist.com.

Special features include audio commentaries, deleted scenes, bloopers and the featurettes "Fairy Tales in the Modern World," "Tell Me a Story," "Building Character," and "Noble Creatures."

Sunday wrap: previews and new projects for Alessandra Torresani, Magda Apanowicz and Esai Morales

A few more updates to end the week.

Let's start with Alessandra Torresani. The horror she is filming with Morgan Fairchild won't be called Paranormal Initiation, but American Horror House. She tweeted that they start shooting this week in Louisiana (Baton Rouge).

Mama Cylon has another new credit on the IMDb, for a thriller called The Moment, shot late last year. Here is the description from the official FB page:
The film is a smart and sexy thriller about a war photographer (LEE) who returns to Los Angeles to rehabilitate after narrowly escaping death. While in the hospital she meets JOHN and they develop a friendship that turns romantic. And then John goes missing. As Lee begins to investigate what happened, she begins to suspect that she killed him, and as she investigates further, she begins to suspect that her daughter killed him. The journalist in her wants to discover the truth; the mother in her is afraid to.
Jennifer Jason Leigh stars as Lee and Martin Henderson plays John. The film was directed by Jane Weistock.

Magda Apanowicz is reportedly in talks to join Dead Souls, a horror/thriller that starts shooting this month in Connecticut. Here is the synopsis, from Chiller TV:
On his 18th birthday, Johnny Petrie learns he was adopted when he inherits a farm in Maine, abandoned for the 18 years since his natural family died at the hands of his father, the local preacher. Eager for a new life, he leaves home to start over in his new dwelling. However, as he digs into his past, he soon uncovers the horrifying details of his father’s questionable teachings. In a frightening revelation, he also learns that his return has revived decades-old forces trapped in the home and sets in motion a heart-stopping finale to a ritual that already claimed the lives of his family. Dead Souls is adapted from the novel by Bram Stoker Award Finalist Michael Laimo. The film is written by John Doolan and directed by Colin Theys; Andrew Gernhard and Zach O’Brien will produce for Synthetic Cinema International.

The Killing season two and weekly wrap

The Killing is back tonight at 8 pm ET with a two-hour season premiere. Caprica and BSG folks who are definitely returning this season include Richard Harmon, Brian Markinson, Michelle Forbes and Callum Keith Rennie.

Andrew Airlie will also be recurring as "Dr. Madigan," and Kacey Rohl and Tahmoh Penikett might also make an appearance, but I haven't seen anything that would confirm this. TV Equals has a clip and the promotional photos from the premiere.

Also back tonight with a second season, Game of Thrones (9 pm). HBO has announced that the trailer for the new season of True Blood will be shown before the premiere. Let's see if they give us a first look at Christopher Heyerdahl's character.

10,000 Days launched, new interview with Aleks Paunovic, and new projects for Magda Apanowicz, Anna Galvin, Hiro Kanagawa, James Marsters, Richard Harmon and James Pizzinato

First, a reminder that the last two episodes of Prime Suspect air tonight at 9 pm on NBC.

And a bunch of cast news:

Esai Morales has been nominated for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special for his work in We Have Your Husband. Big congrats!

And also congrats to the Gun Hill Road team on the nomination for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film (Limited Release). Still no DVD release date for GHR.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but Eric Stoltz directed an episode of Californication last year. The episode now has a title and an air date: "Love Song," February 12. Spoiler TV has the synopsis.

Magda Apanowicz has a new credit on the IMDb. She will make an appearance in episode 1x06 of Holliston, the first original series from the FEARnet cable channel. The show is a horror sitcom, it premieres in April, and Magda will be playing "Goblin." Her episode is called "Weekend of Horrors."

The Chuck two-hour series finale airs this Friday, so Grimm is taking a break. Here are a couple of photos of Sasha Roiz in episode 1x10, "Organ Grinder," which airs in two weeks:

Synopsis for "Here Be Dragons," Gemenon set tour, and cast updates

Caprica episode 1x17, "Here Be Dragons," airs tonight at 10 pm on Space. Here is the synopsis (spoilers):

The Graystones (Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcomson) find Zoe (Alessandra Torresani) with a vengeful Clarice (Polly Walker) closing in, while the Ha'La'Tha turns on the Adama brothers (Esai Morales, Sasha Roiz).

Like last week's episode, "Here Be Dragons" was directed by Michael Nankin. You can rate it below.

There is a new(ish) behind-the-scenes clip on Hulu. It's a tour of the STO camp with Magda Apanowicz, with Michael Nankin and Christopher Heyerdahl also making brief appearances. If you haven't seen any episodes since "False Labor," there are probably some minor spoilers for "Blowback" and "The Heavens Will Rise" in the video (embedded below).

The apple campaign continues this week. You can find an update on the Save Caprica blog.

From the description on Amazon, the European Caprica 1.0 DVD (out on January 3, 2011) will have the same extras as the region 1 release. Too bad that it's too late for international sales to count.

Cast updates:

Alessandra Torresani and Sasha Roiz filmed a hilarious short video against gay bullying. You can see it on YouTube.

The last two episodes of Riese have been posted at syfy.com/riese.

The Arts Club blog has a really great interview with Hiro Kanagawa about his play, The Patron Saint of Stanley Park, which opens later this week in Vancouver. (Geek alert: it's science fiction.) For the entire media kit, go here.

Panou tweeted a few days ago that he is in rehearsals for a staged reading of a play called Ruined, written by Lynn Nottage.

You can listen to She Stoops to Conquer, with James Marsters, on L.A. Theater Works' site: part 1, part 2.

Marsters will be back on Hawaii Five-0 on Monday, December 13. The press release is here.

Genevieve Buechner will guest star on Fringe in episode 3x09, "Marionette," which airs on Thursday, December 9 at 9 pm.

Jorge Montesi will make an appearance on Human Target as "Don Miguel Cervantes" in episode 2x04, "The Return of Baptiste." The episode airs on Wednesday, December 8 at 8 pm.

Tonight's episode of Stargate Universe, "Visitation," was written by Remi Aubuchon.

And I leave you with the weekly poll and the Gemenon clip:

New video blog and previews for Caprica 1x11, "Retribution"

Syfy has posted five new clips on the official site. One is a scene from last night episode, "Unvanquished," with Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales and Sasha Roiz. The second is a video blog called "Caprican Evolution." In it, Caprica writers and producers David Eick, Jane Espenson, Clara George, Michael Taylor, Ron Moore and visual effects supervisor Gary Hutzel discuss the worldbuilding aspects of the show (with special emphasis on Tauron culture) and working with the U-87. The next two clips are sneak peeks from episode 1x11, "Retribution," both involving Lacy (Magda Apanowicz) and her dealings with the STO. From the looks of it, Barnabas (James Marsters) will be back in next week's episode. The last clip is the teaser for "Retribution." The clips are embedded below.

The podcast for "Unvanquished," with David Eick, Eric Stoltz and Tom Lieber, has been posted. You can find it here, as usual.

Alessandra Torresani was on Attack of the Show yesterday. You can see the clip here.

Bear McCreary has a new post up about the music in "Unvanquished." You can read it here: Caprica: Season 1.5.

Patton Oswalt confirmed that he will make an appearance on Community tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 7 at 8 pm on NBC) and said that his episode of Bored to Death airs this Sunday (Oct. 10 at 10 on HBO).

Caprica returns tonight: Cast interviews, videos and updates

A final round of updates before the show returns tonight at 10 on Syfy:

Magda Apanowicz will be doing a live chat at Syfy Connect tonight at 8:45 pm EDT. [Update: The chat has been cancelled.]

Caprica's science advisor Malcolm MacIver has an excellent new post at Discover Magazine: Caprica Puzzle: If a Digital You Lives Forever, Are You Immortal?

Eric Stoltz has posted a few more pictures from the set of "Unvanquished" here. His episode of Glee airs next Tuesday at 8 pm on Fox.

Los Angeles Times has a short interview with Polly Walker here. Snippet:

"I'm not a technical person ... I do well to send an e-mail. But it is interesting that I play a character who wants to create a digital heaven."

Walker, who does believe in God but is not a "particularly religious person," didn't do any specific research for the role.

"Like any actor, I just translated what was put in front of me," said the actress.

Walker also tells us that for this second half of the season, "fans are definitely going to see the action quotient go up. Characters are more active, and Clarice graduates beyond the school."

She will also guest star on Sanctuary this fall.

Paula Malcomson, still a regular on Sons of Anarchy, will make an appearance in The Event, episode 1x06, "Loyalty."

Ausiello at EW says that Ron Moore has a new project in the works, a remake of the ’60s classic The Wild Wild West.

Battlestar's Aaron Douglas tweeted that he starts filming an episode of Eureka tomorrow.

Magda Apanowicz will play Ashley Tisdale's rival on Hellcats later this season. She mentioned it in an interview with Homorazzi.com:

Magda also talked to TV Squad in recent days. The interview is here. Snippet:

They have a life-sized Cylon on the 'Caprica' set. They didn't have one for 'BSG.' Apparently they'd talked about it for so long, but supposedly it's really expensive to create, so they couldn't do it. I think it's so crucial – I can't believe they went so long without one. There are so many scenes when Eric [Stoltz], Paula [Malcolmson] and Polly [Walker] and I were all talking to the Cylons, and you need something there.

Like the infamous tennis ball on a stick?

Yep, we have one of those. There are many times when – sorry if I'm ruining anything for your readers – but I've been in a room before where they literally had a whole bunch of poles that are supposed to symbolize Cylons. That's where imagination comes in, but I find it easy to get lost in the 'Caprica' world, so it's not that big a problem for me. So there's the pole Cylon, the real Cylon, and then there's the cut-out Cylon.

Which do you use?

I usually have the pole. We drew straws and I lost. Eric gets the cut-out. (...)

As a viewer, I felt badly for Lacy, but also wanted to give her a shake. She just seems so meek.
Again, I don't want to ruin anything, but in this second half of the season there is some serious growth of character. Lacy goes on a journey, and she's constantly thrown into these absolutely awful situations and decisions. It's really cool where she goes, and I'm really satisfied... the finale is amazing.

Syfy has posted a fan Q&A with Alessandra Torresani and Sasha Roiz:

Wired has a new bonus clip from the Caprica Season 1.0 DVD, "Making Caprica’s Gritty New Cap City" here.

Serge Graystone is tweeting again.

And The Caprican has an article with a major spoiler for tonight's episode here.

More updates on Twitter as they come. If you haven't signed up there yet, this would be a really good time. ;)

Where to catch the cast this fall

August 15 has come and gone with no news about the actors' contracts getting picked up for a second season or any word on what Syfy is thinking these days, but with the cast appearing in about a gazillion other things this fall, the hiatus blues should be getting easier.

If you're in New York some time between September and January, you can catch a short film, Untitled, with Eric Stoltz starring, at MoMA (see article.)

No release date has been set yet for his last feature, Fort McCoy (pic left), but IMDb still says 2010, so fingers crossed.

And this is still unconfirmed, but an extras casting director tweeted yesterday that our daddy Graystone will direct one of the new episodes of Glee. If true, the episode should air in the first half of the season. The show returns on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8 on Fox.

Alessandra Torresani has been cast in Playback, Michael A. Nickles' new horror flick that starts shooting this week (synopsis here). You can follow her on Twitter for updates and make sure to check out the interview she gave EW after being voted the Ultimate Sci Fi Hottie of 2010 earlier this month. The interview is on her site. Here is a snippet:

Since a second season is still up in the air, could these last 10 episodes wrap up the narrative on their own?
Alessandra: It would be really disappointing if it didn’t go to a second season. At Comic-Con, [executive producers] Ron Moore and David Eick sat us all down, and [told us] probably the most genius second-season plan I have ever heard. It would be mind-blowing to me if we didn’t get to do that, because there’s so much more to tap in. There are so many secrets that no one knows about, that only [Moore and Eick] do. I would be disappointed if we didn’t go to a second season, because the back ten explain a lot.

Esai Morales has just wrapped filming Gun Hill Road, a family drama set in the Bronx, directed by Rashaad Ernesto Green and also starring Judy Reyes and Vincent Laresca. You can see some pics from the set on Esai's Facebook page.

He also appears in Cherry, a comedy with Laura Allen (The 4400) and Kyle Gallner, that will be shown at the Boston Film Festival on September 20 (updates at CherryTheMovie.com and on Facebook), and in Panic Nation, a documentary on immigration laws that recently won the Best Documentary Award at the Broadway International Film Festival. The film will be screened at several festivals in the next couple of months. For dates and venues, go to PanicNationMovie.com or follow Panic Nation on Twitter. Another recent movie of his, King of the Avenue, will be out on DVD on October 26. You can get it on Amazon.

Paula Malcomson will appear in eight episodes of Sons of Anarchy this season. You can see a couple of previews here. Season three kicks off on Tuesday, September 7, at 10 on FX.

Polly Walker will guest star in a couple of episodes of Sanctuary this fall (will tweet air dates when they show up). The show returns on Tuesday, September 28 at 10 on Syfy. This is also a good opportunity to get acquainted with Ryan Robbins, who will appear in five episodes of Caprica in Clarice's storyline and is a series regular on Sanctuary. (You can also catch him in the new horror film Manson, My Name Is Evil, which is out on October 12 - link).

Polly Walker also has a role in Disney's live-action adaptation of John Carter of Mars. The film was shot earlier this year, but won't see the light of day until June 2012. For updates, keep an eye on JohnCarterMovie.com.

Clash of the Titans, in which Polly briefly appears as Cassiopeia, was released on DVD and Blu-ray in late July.

Sasha Roiz will guest star on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation alongside Elliott Gould this fall. The episode, "Pool Shark," was directed by Michael Nankin and will air on September 30 on CBS.

You can also see Sasha in the web series Crazy/Sexy/Awkward (episode one). Back in June, he also mentioned doing a short film, but no details on that one yet.

His last movie, Unthinkable, was released on DVD on June 15.

Magda Apanowicz, Genevieve Buechner and Liam Sproule (Keon) can be seen in the TV film Bond of Silence, which premiered the other day on Lifetime. You can see the trailer, find the airing schedule, or watch the film online on Lifetime's site. Magda joined Twitter this week, so you can follow her there to see what else she's been up to.

Genevieve Buechner has also joined Richard Harmon in Judas Kiss (article here), an independent movie currently in production in Seattle. Michael Hinman posted a podcast from the set this week. You can check it out on Alpha Waves Radio.

Genevieve also has a part in Daydream Nation, a drama that will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. For the trailer and screening schedule, visit TIFF.net.

Richard Harmon will appear in Dear Mr. Gacy, a film that will be released some time later this year, and Tower Prep, Cartoon Network's new show that premieres this fall.

If you're attending the Toronto Film Festival, you'll probably wanna catch A Night for Dying Tigers, an independent drama with Caprica's Leah Gibson and John Pyper-Ferguson in the main cast (TIFF listing, trailer and screening times). Pyper-Ferguson has two other movies premiering in Toronto: Score: A Hockey Musical, (TIFF listing) and Tony Goldwyn's Conviction (fka Betty Anne Waters - TIFF listing), starring Hilary Swank, which will get a limited release in October.

If that's not enough, you can also catch him in the recently released drama Hungry Hills (official site), martial arts flick Tekken (trailer), and the upcoming horror/thriller Die (pics and synopsis).

Leah Gibson had a brief appearance in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and did a comedy called Indie Jonesing, currently in post-production. For more updates on her projects, you can follow her on Twitter.

Hiro Kanagawa (Cyrus) has written a play, The Patron Saint of Stanley Park, that opens at the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver in late November (link). He also did a TV movie, Earth's Final Hours, that won't air until June. In the meantime, you can catch him in the action flick The King of Fighters (trailer), starring Maggie Q and Ray Park, that will hopefully get a release date before then.

Brian Markinson (Agent Duram) will be a series regular on Shattered (article, trailer 1, trailer 2), a new show that premieres on September 1 at 10 on Global. He will play shrink to none other than Callum Keith Rennie. James Pizzinato (Drew, Graystone's lab boy), will be another familiar face in the pilot.

And to round up the guest appearances:

  • Patton Oswalt has signed on to guest star on Bored to Death (article). No mention of specific episode(s) yet. The show returns on September 26 at 10 on HBO.
  • Scott Porter will appear in episode 5.07 of Friday Night Lights (executive produced by Jeffrey Reiner, with Patrick Massett and John Zinman serving as consulting producers) and he will also have a recurring role on The Good Wife this season (article). The final season of Friday Night Lights kicks off on October 27 on DirecTV and The Good Wife returns on Tuesday, September 28 at 10 (CBS).
  • James Marsters will be back on Smallville in the show's last season. He will appear in the 200th episode (tentative air date is October 14). Before that, he will guest star in the Hawaii Five-0 pilot alongside Grace Park -- the show premieres on Monday, September 20 at 10 (CBS). As a sidenote, Marsters starts shooting Three Inches, a new pilot for Syfy, in Toronto this week (press release). His castmates will include Stephanie Jacobsen (Razor, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Naoko Mori (Torchwood).

Two other shows to keep an eye on are AMC's The Walking Dead (non-U.S. friendly trailer), for your regular dose of Bear McCreary, and the CW's Hellcats, which shares showrunner Kevin Murphy with Caprica. Aaron Douglas and Ryan Kennedy (who will have a recurring role in Caprica 1.5 in Lacy's storyline) will both appear on the show. (Quick note: Kennedy has also been cast on Facing Kate, USA's new "anti-law" drama starring Michael Trucco, which starts airing in January.)

The Walking Dead premieres on Sunday, October 31 at 10, and Hellcats will see the light of day on Wednesday, September 8 at 9.

Interviews: Alessandra Torresani, Magda Apanowicz, Sasha Roiz, Esai Morales

Another round of interviews this week.

Newsarama has posted video interviews with the cast at the Paley Center. Follow these links to watch them: Alessandra Torresani, Magda Apanowicz, Sasha Roiz, Esai Morales.

Magda also gave an interview at the Toronto Comic Con last weekend. The article is here.

"It's not a simple show that you can sum up in a sentence, which I think is a good thing. I could say that it's the origin story of a Cylon, but I truly don't think that's the only thing the show's about," said Apanowicz in an interview at last week's Comic Con convention in Toronto.

"It's about the rise and fall of a nation … It's saying, 'Hey, this is a possibility if you take a look at our world and our lives.' If you take the similarities, we have the possibility of imploding ourselves, and maybe sometimes we should stop and take a look."

Caprica deals with frightening social issues, she said, that are directly related to our real world. The depiction of sexuality in the V worlds, where teenagers congregate in mass orgies at nightclubs, is perhaps the show's strongest reflection of the real world. The plethora of freely available pornographic content on our internet, coupled with ubiquitous advanced communications technology, is redefining how young people view sexuality, and not necessarily in a good way, Apanowicz said. (...)

As with many robot morality tales before it, Caprica also raises questions about humans playing god, and whether we've properly considered the implications of doing so.

On the show, the consequences of failing to do that are implied by the very nature of the prequel — the destruction seen in BSG. On that show, it's ironically the robots that eventually try to help the humans recapture their lost spirituality. Apanowicz is just one of many fans who ultimately ended up rooting for the Cylons because of that.

"Cylons are the ones that are trying to help humanity find its way," she said. "Humans are the ones who are so lost and it's the artificial life that is trying to help, although obviously not in the best way." -- CBC News

And another interview with Alessandra showed up here.

JA: Have you gotten into Battlestar Galactica since you've started Caprica?

AT: I'm into it, I love it. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm kinda obsessed with Caprica. Everyone's story line is so unreal to me, it's amazing. The whole Esai and Tamara situation is so heartbreaking, I cry every time I watch it.

JA: Do you have a fondest memory so far of being on the set of Caprica?

AT: We have a bunch of sing-a-longs. I have a You Tube channel that I am about to premiere about how to make it in the business, I will post those videos that I recorded on my flip cam. It focuses on how to make a resume and getting an agent. I have a lot of fans asking me every day "how did you do it?" They think that I just suddenly made it, but I have been doing it since I was eight years old.

Cast interviews: Sasha Roiz, Richard Harmon, Magda Apanowicz, Alessandra Torresani, Esai Morales

A bunch of new interviews with the cast showed up over the weekend. For complete articles, follow the links below.

And if you haven't read Bear McCreary's latest entry or heard this week's podcast (with David Eick, Michael Taylor, Magda Apanowicz, Paula Malcomson and Tom Lieber), make sure you do. Lots of fun facts about the finale.

Out.com has a new interview with Sasha Roiz.

You've already shot the entire season. What can we expect from the second half?
I can't talk about it to a great capacity, but you'll see that the stories are more intertwined. The storylines and various characters aren't so divided -- they really tie in and connect with one another. There will definitely be a major storyline involving the Adamas and the Greystones. It will be very unique. (...)

Have you experienced any fandom yet?
New York was the first real taste of that, and it was really exciting. It was a whole other level of fandom. They're not just fans of you being on television -- they're fans of the show, so they want to know everything having to do with the show. They are so invested in it. It's just phenomenal. I loved the questions. I loved their investment -- it's really something else.

Was it your choice or the writers' choice to have you shirtless many times throughout the show?
It was definitely not my choice! I think there were some notes coming in from the top saying, "You know, he doesn't look so bad. Why don't we make him shirtless as well?" It was scripted that way, but the tattoos cost a fortune. Less is more -- so you show it a couple times, and then you have to be very selective about when you show it again.

One final question: I feel Sam is one of the best representations of gays on television right now, and I was wondering how you felt to be part of television history to a certain degree.
It is a true pleasure and really an honor to represent a gay demographic. Not only is Sam interesting in and of himself, away from his sexuality, but it's ironic that his relationship is one of the only stable relationships on the show. It's just been so well received, and the gay community has been so incredibly supportive. It's very rare for an actor to play a role where you affect people on a personal level, not just for entertainment. I've had a lot of people tell me that, and it's really touching, and it's a wonderful responsibility to carry. It's been great, a great experience. -- Out.com

The Caprica Times talked to Richard Harmon.

The Caprica Times: Was there a romantic connection between Tamara Adama and Heracles?

Richard Harmon: Yes, from my perspective there is a little bit of a romantic connection between Tamara and Heracles, especially from Heracles’ point of view. No one ever believed in him in his actual life but Tamara shows that she actually has confidence in his ability to succeed in the real world - something no one else has done for him. Heracles was just using Tamara in the beginning to get what he thought he wanted but in the end he definitely felt a romantic connection towards her.

The Caprica Times: What did you find most intriguing about the New Cap City game?

Richard Harmon: The most intriguing thing about the game to me would probably be simply it’s realistic qualities - it’s life with no regrets… unless you get shot by fighter jets, you may regret that. (...)

The Caprica Times: What was the most memorable thing that happened while on set?

Richard Harmon: Hmm, most memorable thing to happen on set.. There is just too much stuff to choose from! I definitely enjoyed all the explosions that we got to do between the two episodes. I had never really done anything as physical as caprica before - it was incredible! I could go on forever about how amazing everyone who works on Caprica is. It was absolutely one of the friendliest sets I have ever had the great pleasure of working on! No matter how hectic everything got everyone somehow was able to rally together and keep smiles on their faces which kept a smile on mine. Working with such amazing Directors like Michael Nankin and Wayne Rose made working on this very intimidating show an ease. They always made me feel like I was where I belonged and at the end of the day that made that made my stay on this show incredibly memorable. -- The Caprica Times

iF Magazine has an interview with Magda Apanowicz.

iF: And Lacy is a student of the teacher Sister Clarice, played by Polly Walker? Both characters secretly believe in a single god in their culture that believes in many gods, but they seem to have different points of view.

APANOWICZ: Yes. It’s so amazing to work with [Walker]. With Lacy’s character, you start to see that Lacy is kind of reading between the lines with Sister Clarice and is not sure if she’s on the same page, and you slowly start to see if she goes with Clarice or if she takes her own path.

iF: Is it more fun to play the teacher/student relationship or the Zoe/Lacy friendship?

APANOWICZ: I think both are good. I like it that I have both to play with. Also the same thing with Eric [Stoltz, who plays Zoe’s scientist father Daniel Graystone] – he’s the adult and he’s more in control in scenes, and so is Polly’s character, and then with Alessandra, we’re more on the same level and I get a good mix of it. It’s definitely nice to have someone my own age occasionally, just someone to relate to what I’m going through, but I also really, really relate to people that are older.

iF: Who do you go to on the CAPRICA staff when you have questions about your character?

APANOWICZ: Probably Jane Espenson and Kevin Murphy. Those two, and Ron Moore, even David Eick. If I ever have any questions or confusions, all four of those people, if I have any questions, I go to those people and they totally give me what I need. -- iF Magazine

Interviews: Magda Apanowicz, Ron Moore & David Eick

Magda Apanowicz did a couple of interviews this week. First, she did the TV Talk podcast with Shaun O'Mac. You can listen to it here (her segment starts an hour into the podcast and lasts about 40 minutes).

And the second one:

The Vancouver native, who plays Lacy Rand on the lauded sci-fi series, says this Friday's mid-season finale - airing just two months after the show debuted - has arrived far too quickly for her liking.

"It's so crazy, it happened out of nowhere. I'm like, 'What? No! There's got to be, like, three more.' But nope!" says Apanowicz, 24, who will be at Wizard World Toronto Comic Con this weekend.

"It just always feels like it's been only on for like, a month, and you're like, 'There's so much more, you guys need to see, there's so much more."'(...)

Friday's mid-season finale will feature "a bunch of cliffhangers," says Apanowicz.

"We're all pretty stuck in the decisions we make at the end and there's no real going backwards from them but kind of finding a new way to go forward from them."

Apanowicz has strong roots in the genre of sci-fi drama, with previous roles in the series "Kyle XY" and "Bionic Woman," the miniseries "The Andromeda Strain," and the film "The Butterfly Effect," among others. -- TheFreePress.ca
