Patton Oswalt on Raising Hope, Young Adult Q&A, new Sanctuary tonight, and interviews with Hiro Kanagawa, Jane Espenson and Christopher Heyerdahl

Tahmoh Penikett is in Scott Turow's Innocent, a TV film that premieres on TNT as part of the network's mystery movie night at 9 pm. Spoiler TV has the press release and a behind-the-scenes video.

Aaron Douglas' episode of Flashpoint that aired in Canada a couple of weeks ago airs in the U.S. tonight at 10 pm on AON.

Patton Oswalt guest stars on Raising Hope in episode "Bro-gurt," which airs at 9:30 pm on Fox. Synopsis:

When the National Invention Convention Extravaganza comes to town, Virginia encourages the family to submit their own inventions that could bring home a large cash prize. Burt teams with the family’s neighbor Andrew (guest star Ethan Suplee) and invents unusually flavored yogurts, while Jimmy partners with Sabrina to develop a new baby mop. When convention day arrives the competition between each team escalates as they pitch their inventions to Andrew Dice Clay (guest-starring as himself). During the competition, the family ends up realizing family and friends are what matter the most.

Collider has a nice, long interview with Christopher Heyerdahl about Hell on Wheels and Breaking Dawn:

How did you come to be a part of Hell on Wheels?
CHRISTOPHER HEYERDAHL: Well, luck and providence, I suppose. They say, “What’s luck? Preparation and opportunity.” So, I guess the opportunity came, in the form of an audition. I put myself on tape, and they responded to it. I went in and did a call-back audition, and they felt that we were on the same track. My idea of who The Swede was, was the same as theirs, and vice versa. This kind of character is very rare, with the fact that it fit so well with my background and my understanding of a Norwegian man. It all just fell into place. I still get a little choked up thinking about how often a character like this comes along. For the viewer, it’s quite interesting. It’s not a character that we see very often, and certainly not in this form. As an actor, it seemed to be tailor-made for me. It’s quite wonderful.

BC Local News has an interview with Hiro Kanagawa about his play, The Patron Saint of Stanley Park, which opens at the Arts Club in Vancouver on December 1. Snippet:

The story is a variation on the stories of Saint Nicholas of Myra, the protector of children now known as Santa Claus. It’s also a personal story for Kanagawa, who started writing Patron Saint as a new father.

“I had a year-and-a-half-old son and a daughter on the way, and I started thinking about what would happen if I were to die. What would the children know of me?”

Kanagawa said he also felt strongly that as a city, Vancouver suffered from an identity crisis and a “lack of mythology.”

“It’s important for artists in this region to engage with the history and mythos of the city,” he added, noting the play also references Canada Line construction on Cambie Street and other aspects of Vancouver’s and Stanley Park’s history.

We Love Cult has a new interview with Jane Espenson, Cheeks and Sean Hemeon. It's mostly about Husbands, but there is a snippet about Caprica, too:

Sean, Brad, Jane, season 1 is through, you earned your success merit badge, is season 2 definitely happening and can we expect a Husbands DVD, Blu Ray, or Betamax in the future? Not VHS, VHS is gauche.
Brad “Cheeks” Bell: VHS is so not gauche. It’s totes got retro hipster appeal now. Cassette tapes too. Now, CDs? Those are gauche.

Jane Espenson: We don’t know yet about a season two, but we are exploring the idea of some kind of bonus content. We’ll see. And we’d like to make a DVD or iTunes version – this is all still up in the air. (...)

Oh, and genre fans, here’s a bonus question for Jane Espenson… Did Barnabas really die in Caprica?
Jane Espenson: I didn’t see a body. If you don’t see a body, the writers are probably keeping it open for a reason.
