Grimm previews & new interviews with Sasha Roiz

Grimm 1x13, "Three Coins in a Fuchsbau," airs tonight at 9 pm. Here is the synopsis:
A failed jewelry store robbery results in a murder that finds Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) immersed in a hunt for rare coins. Nick soon learns that these coins have an unsettling effect on whoever possesses them, as Hank and Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) begin to exhibit unusual behavior. Meanwhile, a mysterious old friend of Aunt Marie’s (guest star Titus Welliver, “Lost”) comes to Nick with information about his family and what led to his parent’s death. Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell and Reggie Lee also star.
Sasha Roiz did a bunch of interviews in recent days. He was on the MyMixFM podcast. You can hear the interview here. Zap2it has a short interview with him:
As for other things fans of "Grimm" can expect to see in the coming weeks, Sasha Roiz, who plays Captain Sean Renard, explains that the series will delve further into his background. He says that the show will look into why he's "as stern and as unyielding as he is."

"I see him very much as a character who believes in a certain order...with him at the top," Roiz says. "And he wants peace and he wants civil obedience within it. And he'll stop at nothing to achieve that."

He adds, "There's definitely a sense of other royals and competition and a certain pressure to get things accomplished because there's definitely a time factor because they're all sort of vying for positions of power."
There is another one at CTV.ca:
Roiz reveals the entire cast has gotten quite tight over the last few months of shooting and credits their closeness to their home base in Portland, OR. “We’ve got no one but one another and we’ve bonded quickly,” Roiz says. “We’re real, real genuine friends up here and we enjoy each other’s company thoroughly.

“It’s been a pleasure and hopefully it comes out in the work.”

The pair also credit the writers for the rewarding experiences they’ve had.

“It’s been a lot of fun from script to script to get inside the mythology of Grimm,” says Roiz. “We’ve been given a lot of freedom to explore the mythology as well as the backstories and interpersonal connections of the characters.”
The TV Addict has an interview with him and David Giuntoli:
Which GRIMM creature has been kind of your favorite on the show so far?
SASHA: Oh boy, the Blutbad.
DAVID: Monroe. You know, we mentioned it before, he’s fantastic. But as far as guest stars, I got to tell you I loved, back in “Three Bad Wolves,” I really like the character of Hap who was Monroe’s old love interest’s brother. He was created by Brad Hinkey. Anybody who can bring some kind of levity to a otherwise fairly serious show I think are kind of my favorites.
SASHA: As a character who will rarely if ever crack a joke, I appreciate anyone who brings a little humor and levity to our show. So definitely when we have some fun characters and actors who could provide that, we’re thrilled. And luckily we’ve got like stylists and Reggie providing a lot of comedy for us. They never cease to amaze me though. They’re like always end up bringing in some great lines and some great characters every time. But I also enjoy some of the dark mythological elements. Like I’m really enjoy the reapers and that whole storyline, and guys who wield scythes. I mean that’s pretty crazy. And we got a really interesting one in this episode, which I don’t want to give away, but it’s sort of like a hunter kind of character that comes to collect. Anyway it’s just very interesting like the mythology is developing and some very intriguing characters are coming to the surface.
Nice Girls TV has another one (transcribed from the same conference call):
And Sasha’s role, Captain Renard, goes through some pretty wild times. Do you want to talk about that?
Sasha Roiz: They are wild times indeed David.
David Giuntoli: Thank you Sash.
Sasha Roiz: I – there’s – Titus (Welliver) was great to work with. He’s a great actor and it’s really fun to have him on set. And the episode is a really strong one. You’re going to see like – there’s – we really sort of found our stride.
A lot of the episodes now are starting to kind of be self-contained in a sense that a lot of the crimes or a lot of the sort of action and motivations keep feeding on mythology in our storylines. And they just kind of strengthen that whole side of our show, which is really exciting and with every show there’s more and more details unfolding. So this is a really good example of the direction we’re heading in.
Sasha was also on Film Festival Radio (interview starts about 17 minutes into the podcast):
